Allow me to introduce myself . . .
I've been an avid programmer since the 6th grade and thoroughly enjoy the pleasures and challenges that programming presents.
I'm a software engineer interested in a wide range of topics. My professional experience includes web site development, embedded programming, device drivers, operating systems development, routing protocols, high performance web caching, data/cold storage, and financial services. Hobby and educational experience ranges from robotics, microcontrollers, parallel computing, AI and machine learning, to mobile development (iOS and Android), among others.
I love to learn new things and thrive in a fast paced, high expectation environment.
Professional Experience
Tech stack: NodeJS, React, CoffeeScript, Redis, AWS (EC2, S3), MSSQL, and git
Work with data science team to productionize models and ingest data. Worked primarily with the
data science team on underwriting models.
Tech stack: Python, R, Scala, AWS (EC2, S3, EMR, Spark), Postgres, Vertica, and git
Worked on the Lexumo security solution for enterprise customers. Produt analyzed source code and
build processes to identify vulnerabilities in customer's open source dependencies, suggested
workaround and code changes to improve source code security. Company defunct as of August 2017. Tech stack: Python, C, Go, AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, Dynamo), and git
Development of a new quantitative, systematic trading platform, written from the ground up in python. Worked on data pipelines,
model development and signal generation. Tech stack included: Python, Cython, MongoDB, MSSQL, Arctic, Pandas, git, and Numpy
I worked on the InRush ticker plant, supporting new exchange feeds and adding features to existing feed
handlers (IEX TOPS, CME, ISE Binary Order Feed). Also worked on support for Bloomberg BPIPE and Bovespa
over RedlineFeed, a market data aggregation feed that delivers normalized, ultra low latency equities and
options data. Technologies used: C, C++, Python, Linux, git
I worked on the Storiant Cold Storage offering, a massive data storage solution (5 to 100 petabytes), primarily on the infrastructure that
ensures data integrity. Company now defunct. Technologies used: Python, C++, Cassandra, Zookeeper, Kazoo, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Eventlets, git, and Zfs
I worked on the Aura LCDN product, a licensed CDN offering that allows network operators to reduce costs by running their own, internal CDN. Worked extensively on the management gateway between the Akamai Platform and the LCDN Software, which was responsible for authenticating clients, auditing connected systems, and relaying statistics to the Akamai Platform. Technologies used: C, C++, Python, MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, Apache Traffic Server, Nginx, redis, OpenSSL, Google Protocol Buffers, Linux, git, perforce, and Boost
I worked on the IOS-XR operating system supporting the ASR-9000 router. Worked on a wide range of features including a new IPC library, ATM CRCP, CEM, and ISSU (In Service Software Upgrade), on both the control plane and data plane. Technologies used: C, QNX, Linux, Perforce JAM, and Perl
I worked for the Mechanical Engineering department, developing web pages and web applications. Technologies used: PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
